In Jan 2012, we took on a semi-derelict industrial unit on the riverside in Lewes East Sussex. With the help of a few friends and lots of faith and hard work, we have created a permanent base for Community Chef in the form of Lewes Community Kitchen.
We run in house cookery and bakery classes, workshops, cookery leader training and food hygiene training for private individuals, community and commercial organisations. Our event catering operations are now based here as is the Lewes Bread Club and Micro Bakery which produces high quality, community supported Real Bread. We host lunch and supper clubs, food and film nights and local community events.
We also rent the kitchen out to local food projects as well as cooks and artisan bakers who need occasional use of a commercial kitchen.
